You can find your own Google reviews in Google Maps under "Your contribution, in the Reviews tab. You see your business's reviews when you open your business in Google Maps or Google Search and tap Reviews. Anyone searching for my Google reviews therefore means one of two things: reviews you wrote, or reviews your business received.
This guide shows both routes step by step, explains how to sort Google reviews, and tells you what to do if a review is missing or unfair.
The short answer in six points
Your own reviews: open Google Maps, the menu, "Your contributions", then "Reviews".
Your business's reviews: search for your business and open "Reviews".
Sorting: by "Most relevant", "Newest", "Highest rating" or "Lowest rating".
Edit or delete: only your own reviews, using the three dots next to the review.
If a review is missing: usually a check is still running, or a spam filter or a policy violation applies.
Unfair review about your business: report it or submit it for checking. Google decides.
Two meanings, two routes
A search for "my Google reviews" means something different depending on your situation. The table shows where to find what:
I want to …Where do I find it?Who can change it?see my own reviewsGoogle Maps, "Your contributions"Only the authorsee my business's reviewsBusiness Profile, "Reviews"The owner can reply or reportread reviews of another placeThe place's page, "Reviews"Nobody except the author
Typical cases: As a guest, you want to change your stars after a restaurant visit. As an owner, you want to know whether new reviews came in since yesterday. Both cases lead to different areas of Google Maps.
How to find your own reviews (the ones you wrote)
On a computer:
Open Google Maps in your browser.
Sign in with the right Google account.
Click the menu (three lines) at the top left and select "Your contributions".
Open the "Reviews" tab.
On a smartphone:
Open the Google Maps app.
Tap your profile picture and open your profile.
Choose "Contributions" and then "Reviews".
The labels can differ depending on your version. There you also see your photos and the replies from businesses. If you use several Google accounts, first check that the right one is signed in. Since November 2025, your reviews appear under a display name that you choose yourself. You can read more in the article on the anonymous Google review.
How to find your business's reviews
You can see the reviews that customers write about your business in three ways:
RouteHow it worksAdvantageGoogle SearchEnter your business name and click "Reviews"Shows what customers seeGoogle MapsSearch for your business and open "Reviews" in the profileAll reviews, with sortingBusiness Profile managementSign in with the managing account and open reviewsReplying and reporting directly
Sign in with the account that manages your profile. Only then do you see management functions such as replying and reporting. If your profile is not complete yet, the Business Profile checklist helps.
For some listings, Google also shows reviews from third-party portals. As things stand, they do not change the Google star rating.
Stars without text and photos: Reviews can consist of stars only or include photos. Both appear in the list of reviews. You can also find customer photos in the "Photos" area of your profile. You cannot reply specifically to stars without text, but they count toward your average.
Sort and filter Google reviews
The "Sort" button lets you reorder the reviews:
SortingShows firstUseful forMost relevantReviews weighted by GoogleThe first impression customers getNewestThe most recently written reviewsSpotting current problemsHighest ratingFive stars firstFinding praise for replies and marketingLowest ratingOne star firstChecking criticism and suspicious cases
With the keyword search inside the reviews, you find recurring topics such as "waiting time" or "parking". This is especially useful when you have many reviews and do not want to read each one. Customers use the same search to get a quick picture of your service.
Example (fictional): A café sorts by "Newest" and searches for "waiting time". It notices that criticism piles up on weekends and then schedules more staff for those days.
Check the "Newest" sorting once a week and "Lowest rating" once a month. That way, anything unusual stands out early, for example several one-star reviews from new profiles. How to classify them is shown in spotting fake reviews.
My Google review is not showing: common reasons
ReasonAffectsWhat you can doThe check is still runningNew reviewsWait a little and check again laterViolation of the policiesReviews with ads, links or insultsRewrite the text in a factual wayAutomatic spam filterGenuine reviews can be affected tooPost the review again laterWrong account signed inYour own reviewsSign in with the right accountRemoved after a complaintReviews about businessesSince April 2026, Google shows how many reviews were removed
Businesses that miss a review can rarely clarify the cause themselves. What matters is that you check your reviews regularly and document changes.
If you wrote the review yourself: Check whether your text contains advertising, links, insults or personal data. Rewrite it in a factual way and post it again. The structure "occasion, details, recommendation" helps: say what you were there for, what was specifically good or bad, and whether you recommend them.
Edit or delete your own review
Open "Your contributions" and then "Reviews".
Tap the three dots next to the review.
Choose "Edit review" to change stars or text, or "Delete review".
You can change your own review at any time, for example after a clarification with the business. As an owner, you cannot delete other users' reviews yourself, only report them.
For businesses: how to keep your reviews in view
Check weekly: open the "Newest" sorting and read new reviews.
Reply: thank people for positive reviews and respond calmly to criticism. The guide to negative Google reviews helps.
Note anything unusual: save the date, the profile name and a screenshot.
Collect more genuine reviews: ideas are in improve your Google Maps rating.
Understand the impact: how reviews feed into local ranking and why single stars weigh heavily is shown in how negative reviews hurt your location.
Your routine: check your reviews in ten minutes a week
WhenTaskTimeOnce a weekOpen the "Newest" sorting and read new reviews5 minutesOnce a weekReply to new reviews5 minutesOnce a monthCheck the "Lowest rating" sorting10 minutesWhen something is unusualSave a screenshot and create a note5 minutes
Document your reviews
Create a simple table: date of the review, profile name, stars, short text, your check (customer yes or no) and your action (reply, report, submission). Add a screenshot each time. This overview helps you spot patterns and is the basis if you later want to report a review.
If you find an unfair review
If, after your check, a review breaks Google's policies, you can submit it for checking. You select the review, Mapnovi handles the technical submission and tracking, and Google reviews and decides. What is included is listed on the services page, and the process is described in the article having Google reviews removed: the process. You can follow progress in the status lookup, find the conditions in the terms and conditions and read how your data is handled in the privacy policy. To get started, submit a review.
An honest note: nobody can guarantee a result, and Mapnovi does not carry out legal reviews. Agencies will find details in the partner portal and in becoming a Mapnovi partner.
